‘We had a truly lovely time at the Villa Martin, it was a joy to sit down to breakfast and other meals on the patio area by the French windows enjoying the view and being serenaded by the assortment of song birds that frequent the village. The pool is an absolute delight to bathe in, especially when returning from a hot day’s exploring of the many attractions in this region. The villa’s roof terrace enables you to sit up there with a glass of wine in the evening, and watch the night sky gradually being cloaked by a million stars, and still the birds are singing in the trees. If you want to sample the local wines, which are truly excellent, then we can recommend the vineyards of Montner, Lastours and the truly wonderful selection of John Pierre at Chateau Gleon Montanie in Durban. The must see place is of course Carcassonne, and is worthy of at least a full day out, as is Narbonne and the many chateaux and Cathar forts in the region. A particular highlight was when the daily bread van arrives, his van is usually chased in hot pursuit by a small white dog, it manages to keep up, barking incessantly, until the van comes to a halt, whereupon the little dog nips onto the driver’s blind side and urinates profusely on the rear wheel. We went in June when it is a little quieter, but judging by the tourist office, the area gets in full swing during July and August, with lots of events to choose from. We have to say that Nigel & Linda were a joy to have as holiday visitors, not only for taking the trouble to write the above, but by helping us to deal with a frustrating internet connection problem whilst they were there, part of which was caused by a lightning strike at some time to our modem. Dear John and Lesley
We have just returned from 10 days in France. The first seven of which were spent at Villa Martin. I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know we had a truly wonderful time. On arrival, the villa looked so welcoming, nestled at the top of the village. Dear Mr. & Mrs. Woor.
This is just a short note to say for the 2nd year running we had an excellent relaxing holiday at Villa Martin. It seemed even better the second time round especially as we drove through Paris and took several hours off the journey each way. Once again the villa was just perfect.

Our stay at the villa St Martin was a great success.
The views from the patio are SUPERB. The accommodation of high standard and very well equipped.
The Swimming Pool proved very popular to cool us, as the weather has been extremely hot- we timed it well!
The walks in the hills and along the river and vineyards most enjoyable, although probably, even more so, at cooler  times of the year.
The Villa is ideally situated for visiting the area and there are some lovely villages quite near.
The whole area is most relaxing - a difficult thing to find these days - and we all agree we must RETURN again.
